Export Button Doesn't Do Anything

Background:

CDA Grain Trader and GT Weighbridge utilise an industry-standard third-party reporting engine, Crystal Reports, to provide report preview and printing functionality. A standard installation of Crystal Reports (version 8.5) installs some support files required for exporting reports into the following folder:

C:\Windows\Crystal

however our experience indicates this location is sometimes not checked by the Crystal engine, eg when running under Terminal Services on Windows Server 2003. Because the support files cannot be found exporting functionality is missing.

Resolution:

Note: The procedure described below should only be attempted by competent users. If after reading it you are unsure or not confident please refer this matter to your IT support personnel for resolution rather than risk damaging existing Windows or other software installation(s).

Note: You will most likely need to be logged in as an Administrator to carry out this procedure. In addition, depending on your Windows settings you may not be able to access the folders named below. If you encounter difficulties please contact your IT support personnel for assistance.

1. Close Grain Trader and/or GT Weighbridge if they are running.
2. Using Windows Explorer or My Computer, navigate to the folder described above.
3. You should see a number of files in this folder. Select all the files whose names start with u2 eg u2fxls.dll, together with the files crxf_pdf.dll and crxf_rtf.dll. Make sure you have not selected any other files.
4. On the Edit menu select Copy (or press CTRL-C).
5. If you are not sure whether your version of Windows Server is 32-bit or 64-bit, contact your IT support person to find out.
   On 32-bit versions of Windows, navigate to the folder C:\Windows\System32
   On 64-bit versions of Windows, navigate to the folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64
6. On the Edit menu select Paste (or press CTRL-V).
7. Run Grain Trader or GT Weighbridge and try to export a report again.
