End Point Royalties (EPRs) are royalty payments paid to the breeders of some commercially-released crop varieties. They are similar to levies in that the value is dependent on the yield, and they are deducted from the proceeds paid to the grower by the first buyer who remits them to the nominated EPR manager. In return for performing this service on behalf of the plant breeder and EPR manager, the first buyer receives a commission, also based on yield.
Grain Trader supports EPRs and creates special a contra combined remittance advice/invoice used to create the appropriate supplier and customer transactions which are accounted for in the usual way.
