The results grid displays data for the selected columns, for Loads located using the criteria as described in the Filters topic. You can change the columns displayed, their relative positions and widths as described in the Layouts topic.
You can sort the results grid by left-clicking on the column heading, which both selects the column for sorting and toggles sorting in ascending/descending order. Alternatively you can right-click the column heading and select one of the sort order options from the popup menu. A small arrow appears in the column heading to tell you that the grid is sorted by this column, and the current sort order:
You can also sort by multiple columns at once by holding down the Shift or Ctrl key and left-clicking another column heading (or right-clicking it and selecting an option from the popup menu). When you sort by multiple columns you get arrows in both columns, together with a number indicating which column is sorted first and so on:
Grouping by a column automatically sorts the grid by that column.
Say we want to see the total sale value of all loads to Customers for a period. In the screen below we have filtered Loads by the required date range, to a Customer (From the first Customer To the last Customer), excluding loads marked as Storage Only.
We scroll horizontally if necessary to display the Customer Name column, right-click the column heading and select Group By This Column from the popup menu:
The results grid is immediately sorted and grouped by Customer Name:
You can have multiple grouping columns. To remove grouping for a single column right-click the column heading and select Don't Group By This Column from the popup menu, or to remove all groupings select Remove Grouping.
You can show subtotals for any column that contains numeric values, and you can have multiple subtotal columns. For example, to report on subtotals for the sale values of the displayed loads, scroll horizontally if necessary to display the Customer Load Total column. Right-click the column heading and select Show totals for this column from the popup menu:
The total of the sale values for each customer for the displayed loads is immediately calculated and displayed in the group headings:
To remove a subtotal, right-click the column heading for that column and select Remove totals for this column from the popup menu. Removing a grouping also removes subtotals for that column, if activated. Removing all groupings also removes all subtotals, if activated.
You can open a specific load from the results grid by double-clicking on it, or selecting it and clicking the Open Load button.
Display or print a summary report of the displayed loads by clicking the Print Summary button.
If you have Microsoft® Excel® installed, you can also click the Export to Excel button to create a new spreadsheet containing all the data currently populating the results grid, exactly as shown (ie including any grouping and subtotals that have been configured). This provides you the opportunity to customise the results with other calculations and/or produce a report to your own design.
