Paying the Royalty Manager

As you process loads, EPR transactions are accumulated internally within the program until such time as you create the contra combined RCTI/Tax Invoice. This avoids having large numbers of individual small transactions at any time. To generate the contra invoice select the Reports | Batch | Royalty Invoices menu as shown below:

EPR Supplier/Customer

As referred to earlier, Grain Trader deducts EPR amounts from the proceeds paid to growers on loads as required and accumulates the royalty component to the supplier account of the appropriate royalty manager. Commission earned by doing so also needs to be accumulated to a customer account. Therefore you need to have a Grain Trader supplier and customer set up in order to implement EPRs.

Flagging Growers for EPR Deductions

EPRs are deducted from the proceeds of loads paid to suppliers, where the Variety and Commodity are so configured, you are the first buyer and the supplier has been flagged as being subject to EPR deductions. This is similar to the way Levies are handled, except that EPR deductions generate a contra combined RCTI/Tax Invoice that retains your commission from the accumulated royalties remitted to the royalty manager.

In the demonstration load below we have selected a Commodity and Variety that are configured to have EPRs deducted:

When a supplier who is also configured for EPRs is selected as the Source, the Deduct Royalty checkbox on the Load window is automatically checked, in the same way as Levy checkboxes:

EPR Commodities & Varieties

EPRs are specific to individual crop varieties. A single variety can be represented in Grain Trader in several commodities (eg by grade), and a single commodity can be associated with a number of varieties. Grain Trader therefore has a mechanism to link varieties to commodities in a many-to-many relationship. This is performed using the Varieties window as shown below:
