Our History

In 1986 John Croft started his own computer consultancy company, Croft Computer Services, specialising in software development for the growing Personal Computer market. From an initial concentration on accounting software, the product range grew over the next few years to include specialized software packages targeted to specific industries - grain traders, stock & station agents and transport companies, in addition to a general-purpose accounting system.

By early 2000 CCS' flagship Grain Trader software was being re-written to operate in the Microsoft Windows environment, and in May of that year Ian Davidson joined John in the business that was to become CDA Software. Since that time CDA Grain Trader has grown enormously in capability and is now in widespread use throughout the eastern states of Australia. Our product range has also grown to service the needs of diverse enterprises and we continue to seek out new opportunites

Since the earliest days of CCS, through today and onwards into the future, our philosophy has always been to listen to our clients. All our products have been developed in response to their needs and we are very proud of that focus - one that you will rarely find elsewhere today. We also typically provide a number of incremental upgrades throughout the year, rather than saving improvements for occasional releases, in order to get new features into your hands sooner.
